Max’s Montana

Max’s Market is our sister business and one that we are proud to have in the family. Long-time Bigfork residents, Jenny and Chris, have put the same love into Max’s that they have put into Flathead Lake Resort. At Max’s, as well as at the resort, you are like family.

The People at Max’s Market

When you walk in, you’ll probably be greeted by one of the two, but more than likely it will be a big beautiful grin and a hello from Max himself. Not only is he the namesake, but his Jenny and Chris also think he is a marketing genius. He will guide you around the market ensuring that you know about all the good stuff that is there for you to purchase.

Not even 10-years-old yet, Max is one of the best salespeople I have ever met. It probably doesn’t hurt that his partner in crime, Charley, is always by his side. Tail wagging, she is ready to offer you doggy love whenever you need it. And we can’t forget the rest of the team at Max’s. As vibrant and full of life as Jenny, Chris, Max, and Charley, the entire team here will welcome you home. This isn’t just any old market.

The Goods at Max’s Market

Shopping at Max’s Market is like coming home with a bountiful crop of fresh produce from local farmers to organic packaged and fresh foods, to plant-based options, homemade baked goods, local beer and wine choices, and so much more. Meals are no longer a chore when shopping at Max’s.They are a work of art.

*As of 2023, Max’s is offering more dine-in than grocery, but they still have delicious offerings, snacks, take-aways, and many locally made wares. It’s definitely a must visit, so we’re keeping them here in this post.

And taking care of your home and body should be a work of art, as well. At Max’s, they are. You also find organic and zero waste home and body products, along with locally made art and Max’s Market official gear.

Papa’s Woods Bay Market

Papa’s Market is not your normal gas station. Yes, it has gas, and it has all the gas station junk food you can imagine. But it also has produce, canned goods, a large variety of wines, a decent selection of craft beer, big box beer, and more. This is the place to stop. Need some firewood for a relaxing campfire on the beach? How about ice or paper towels? Papa’s Market has got that, too. Papa’s has it all. Want to make margaritas but don’t have the tequila? You guessed it! Papa’s Market also has a complete liquor store.

But one of the most intriguing things about Papa’s Market is that it is also a casino and a bar. For all your entertainment needs, including snacks and drinks, Papa’s Market is your go-to place.

So when Max’s is closed, but you still need a tomato or a snack to bring on the water, Papa’s Market is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Flathead Lake Resort. It’s convenient and quick, making this a great place for quick grocery pick ‘em ups while on vacation.

Harvest Foods

Harvest Foods is more than just a small town grocery. Yes, it has everything you need in a grocery store, but for a small town grocery, it has more than you expect with prices that you may not expect from a tourist town. Affordable groceries, friendly staff, and a large selection of local craft beer and local wine, this is a grocery store that suits both locals and tourists alike.

While we all do our best to save money and eat well, there’s just something about experiencing the local restaurant cuisine. So, for those days when you want someone else to do the cooking, the serving, and the dishes, we’ve got the restaurants here for you, too.
